Our CEO Sarah Wolfer has been featured on the “Woman Wednesday” series by My Lilianas. In this article, Sarah discusses the role that sports played in her life and how sports can benefit girls from all walks of life. Sarah also discusses her passions for women supporting women and leadership and how those passions are impacting the work of Girl Boss Sports.
Here is a sneak peek:
“One of the things I hope you learn from my story is the power that sports can have on anyone and everyone. Being involved with sports provides so many opportunities to teach life lessons and find success on AND off the field. Whether you are someone who has never played before or thinking about getting back into it, just do it! There are a ton of recreational leagues and teams and classes around the nation that could be a great outlet for you and I highly recommend it. And if you are someone with children (or know somebody who has children) I’d encourage you to get them involved in (and help them stay in) sports. If you have girls, it’s even better that you’re reading this. By age 14, girls are 1.5 to 2 times more likely to drop out of sports, and this is incredibly sad to hear. This is due to a ton of reasons including lack of access, costs associated with participation in sports, and lack of positive female role models. These are all things that Girl Boss Sports is working to change.”

With International Women’s Day coming soon (March 8th), Vix Anderton with The Practical Balance created a series celebrating Female Founders and our very own Girl Boss Sports CEO Sarah Wolfer was a part of it!
Here is a sneak peek:
“At Girl Boss Sports, I have been able to focus on leadership, women supporting women, sports, and breaking barriers at every step as I build this company. I have learned that often in life, moments when we are “face-down in the arena” (and that arena looks different for everyone) are preparing us for future challenges or opportunities. It was through this incredibly painful experience, that I finally gathered the courage to make my vision a reality as a fire was lit in my soul to create a company that breaks barriers for the female population.
WOULD THIS HAVE HAPPENED HAD I NOT EXPERIENCED EVERYTHING THAT I DID?
The honest answer is I don’t know, but what I DO know is that I am now stronger because of each of those building blocks of life experiences that occurred along my journey. I proved that I can advocate for myself even given the toughest of circumstances. I proved that I am resilient, motivated, and a gifted entrepreneur. I proved that I can do anything that I set my mind to and that the comeback really is better than the setback.”

Our schedule for the day is as follows:
2-5 years old – 8:30am – 10am
6-9 years old – 10:30am – 12pm
10-13 years old – 12:30pm – 2pm
14-18 years old – 2:30 – 4pm
All of our services are offered FOR girls BY women in the Greater Seattle area! We believe that girls can achieve more in sports AND in life when they have female role-models to look up to and learn from. All our coaches are background checked, have extensive playing and/or coaching experience, and are ready to help your daughter grow into the soccer player she dreams of.
Girl Boss Sports walks the talk when it comes to our mission and values, and here at Girl Boss Sports we believe that ALL girls who want to play soccer should be able to… And that is why we are bringing you – the Greater Seattle Area – additional options that can fit various pricing needs for you and your family.
For those in the soccer community who haven’t heard of Girl Boss Sports before, here’s what we offer that differentiates us from our competition. We are here to help female soccer players learn to “play like a girl” through personalized soccer skill development, and communication/ leadership training all while having a female coach to learn from. We provide soccer clinics, private soccer lessons (for individuals or with up to 10 friends), and soccer camps for female athletes with female coaches. We believe in the power of female athletes having female role-models to look up to who understand what it’s like and who can ultimately better support our athletes in becoming successful on AND off the field.
Typically in the private coaching world, prices range wildly but almost always are sky high (sometimes more than $100 an hour at other companies!). To combat that, we have now launched “Cost Effective” options in Seattle, the U-District, Queen Anne, Ballard, Shoreline, Lynnwood, Redmond, Bellevue, Tukwila/ Renton, Auburn, Tacoma, and Kitsap County (more locations coming soon).
Here’s how it works:
You sign-up for this option at GirlBossSports.com/Services/CostEffective/
You will select your preferred training location (from the cities mentioned above – and we are hiring coaches in many more locations soon), the athlete’s age (2-19+), and the maximum price point per week you would like to pay for the group lessons.
We will then MATCH you with other player(s) in your area (based on the criteria above) who would like to join you in a lesson – bringing the cost down to the point you can afford. The more players that join a lesson, the cheaper it is per athlete.
It may take longer to get a session booked as we need to wait until enough players join the program in your price point, age-range, and location – so spread the word to your friends and teammates!
We have a ton more services available at Girl Boss Sports, including Skill Clinics, Private Training (1:1 or 1:10 with everything in-between), Summer Camps, and even the “Play like a Girl” Online Institute for those of you who don’t have a Girl Boss Sports coach in your area. Check out our WEBSITE for a full list of available services and sign up for our email list to be contacted as new services become available in your area (as we are always expanding).
Please send any questions you have to Info@GirlBossSports.com. You can also find us on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, or LinkedIn!

HUGE Shout out to Virtually Untangled for the amazing collaboration. If you haven’t checked out Virtually Untangled yet, we highly recommend that you do. Thanks for doing all that you do Crystal.
Crystal Kordalchuk of Virtually Untangled – “I’m here with something exceptionally different today (all month long actually – twice a week) and very excited to share the first of eight special stories from seven very exceptional #BossBabe women whom I’ve met virtually over the last handful of years.
In speaking with women from all over the world I realized there was a need for more storytelling. Stories just like theirs needed to be spread socially through my blog for many reasons … First, to show support to all the hardworking women hustling out there to building their dream empires! I wanted to connect with these women to have them dig deep … tell the raw truth behind how they built their empires, their personal successes, their struggles and how they got to where they are today. And secondly, I am hoping that these #BossBabe stories will empower and inspire other women to follow their passion and make their dreams a reality by kicking discrimination to the curb.
Now, here today, I’m over the moon excited to share the first of this #BossBabe series. Here is Sarah’s story …”
