#ICYMI – Girl Boss Sports has been participating in a contest put on by the Business Impact NW for the last few months and we are excited to announce that we have made it to the 3rd of 4 rounds! We need your help to make it to the FINAL round where if selected, our CEO Sarah Wolfer will be making a live pitch to a panel of three judges selected from the Pacific Northwest Business Community. This event will be taking place on September 19th 2019 and tickets are available now HERE. 5 startups and 5 established businesses will be selected to move forward to this final round of the competition.
In order to make it to this final round, each final company (there are 22 remaining) had to create and submit a 4 minute video addressing what the business does, what problem it is solving, and the positive impact on the community we will have. As of today, we are now entering the voting phase of the competition and it is now YOUR chance to make your voice heard and help Girl Boss Sports win! You are able to vote once per day from (from each IP address) from August 19th through August 28th and EVERY vote counts! You can click THIS LINK to vote and make sure you add it to your favorites for the next couple weeks to vote daily for Girl Boss Sports to advance to the final round. Please share this with your friends and family to help spread the word.
Girl Boss Sports has the chance to win a $10K Cash Prize going toward the company and ultimately helping toward us work toward our two goals:
1) Keeping girls in sports because girls are dropping out at twice the rate of boys by the age of 14, and by the age of 17 half of all girls who WERE playing sports have now dropped out.
2) Increasing the number of women sports coaches as there are simply too few of us – for example for soccer in the US, only 21% of coaches are women and globally it is only 7%.
You can find out more about how we are working toward these two goals by tuning into our #ImpactPitch video available at the link above.
Thanks for your continued support of Girl Boss Sports and the female athletes and coaches in the Pacific Northwest community.
Check out GirlBossSports.com for more ways to get involved!

Girl Boss Sports is excited to announce a new partnership with Street Soccer Seattle!
Street Soccer Seattle is all about using soccer for social change. Their mission is “to foster the camaraderie, community, and confidence that are central to the sport of soccer to empower homeless individuals to find greater success and peace in their lives.” Through soccer, a powerful community can be fostered that includes individuals affected by homelessness, coaches, mentors, volunteers, and community partners. Street Soccer Seattle then uses this team platform to create a training curriculum of job preparation, life skills, and other specialized services, ultimately connecting participants directly to jobs, education, and housing.
Once a year Street Soccer Seattle is proud to send a team to participate in the Street Soccer USA Cup and represent the city of Seattle. At the cup, players get to speak up about what they play for and learn what it means to represent their home city to the world. Ultimately Street Soccer Seattle’s goal is to look at life beyond the national tournament in supporting players toward achieving their goals off the field. By joining the team, players are able to reconnect with their community and form long-lasting bonds with coaches, volunteers, and their teammates. 75% of Street Soccer players nationally complete a rehabilitation program, further their education, gain employment, or find housing within a year of joining the team.
Girl Boss Sports is excited to be partnering with this amazing organization to build a team for women who are experiencing homelessness in the Seattle area. Our CEO, Sarah Wolfer, will be providing mentorship to the Head Coach of the women’s team as well as other applicable resources to the many other incredible humans who are working tirelessly to get this new women’s team moving forward.
Practices will be held every Thursday beginning next week (7/11/19) from 5:30-7PM with the location still TBD (though it will be in the University District). Please email firstname.lastname@example.org for additional information about this new Street Soccer Seattle Women’s team.
And as always, please help spread the word so we can continue to make an impact on the sports community for girls and women everywhere. Happy Friday all you #GirlBosses out there!

“Sarah Wolfer is ready to change a culture that is in desperate need of attention – youth athletics. Girl Boss Sports walks the talk when it comes to our mission and values, and here at Girl Boss Sports we believe that ALL girls who want to play soccer should be able to… And that is why we are bringing you – the Greater Seattle Area – additional options that can fit various pricing needs for you and your family.
For those in the soccer community who haven’t heard of Girl Boss Sports before, here’s what we offer that differentiates us from our competition. We are here to help female soccer players learn to “play like a girl” through personalized soccer skill development, and communication/ leadership training all while having a female coach to learn from. We provide soccer clinics, private soccer lessons (for individuals or with up to 10 friends), and soccer camps for female athletes with female coaches. We believe in the power of female athletes having female role-models to look up to who understand what it’s like and who can ultimately better support our athletes in becoming successful on AND off the field.
Typically in the private coaching world, prices range wildly but almost always are sky high (sometimes more than $100 an hour at other companies!). To combat that, we have now launched “Cost Effective” options in Seattle, the U-District, Queen Anne, Ballard, Shoreline, Lynnwood, Redmond, Bellevue, Tukwila/ Renton, Auburn, Tacoma, and Kitsap County (more locations coming soon).
Here’s how it works:
You sign-up for this option at GirlBossSports.com/Services/CostEffective/
You will select your preferred training location (from the cities mentioned above – and we are hiring coaches in many more locations soon), the athlete’s age (2-19+), and the maximum price point per week you would like to pay for the group lessons.
We will then MATCH you with other player(s) in your area (based on the criteria above) who would like to join you in a lesson – bringing the cost down to the point you can afford. The more players that join a lesson, the cheaper it is per athlete.
It may take longer to get a session booked as we need to wait until enough players join the program in your price point, age-range, and location – so spread the word to your friends and teammates!
We have a ton more services available at Girl Boss Sports, including Skill Clinics, Private Training (1:1 or 1:10 with everything in-between), Summer Camps, and even the “Play like a Girl” Online Institute for those of you who don’t have a Girl Boss Sports coach in your area. Check out our WEBSITE for a full list of available services and sign up for our email list to be contacted as new services become available in your area (as we are always expanding).
Please send any questions you have to Info@GirlBossSports.com. You can also find us on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, or LinkedIn!
