Jackie G (2)

Before Jackie moved to Tacoma, Washington from St. Louis, Missouri in 2017, she was sure to check on some important factors.  Topping the list:  soccer.  “St. Louis is a big soccer town and it was important for me to know my love for the game would be reciprocated by a soccer community in the PNW.”  Needless to say, it is.
Within a week of her move, she jumped into the Tacoma soccer scene by showing up on Women’s League night at Tacoma Soccer Center and subbing in for a team that needed players.  More soccer, friends, teammates and fun all followed.
Girlboss
Jackie’s loved soccer since her first soccer playing experience at 4 years old.  She has expressed this throughout her life by surrounding herself with soccer at work, by sharing her passion through coaching and first and foremost, by playing.  Soccer games, practices and tournaments were a huge part of Jackie’s youth.
“I have played soccer my whole life.  Often I would practice in the side yard, working on my juggling, trapping and practicing my striking by kicking the ball off of a wood wall that bordered our carport…my dad didn’t like it when it started to break.  Oops.”
Wanting to continue the soccer life at a recreational level, Jackie went to college and was dismayed to find there was no Soccer Club.  Thankfully, she joined a group of like minded students and soccer players and created one!  Since graduating college with a Masters Degree in Elementary Education, she has participated in recreational leagues year round.  Jackie found her first full-time job at the indoor soccer center she worked at as a teenager.  It was as the Youth Program Director her love for coaching and flexing her degree outside of the classroom was confirmed.  Jackie currently runs a preschool gymnastics program in Federal Way in addition to her Girl Boss Sports coaching, house/dog-sitting and nannying.
Her soccer coaching experience includes coaching players of many ages and abilities.  “I have coached preschool age, elementary school, high school and peers.  Being able to break down skills, engage and have a great time with a variety of ages and skill levels is something I pride myself in.  I think what comes off most is my excitement and passion for soccer and the art and technique behind it.”
Jackie is loving the life she is building in PNW with more adventures and soccer on the horizon.
